Today I played a game with some 7th graders. The game is called Stop. Someone picks a letter and then you have to list things that begin with that letter. Similar to other games, but super funny when you have 7th graders thinking really hard within a 1 minute time span. The letter was Y... the topic... colors. While many were stumped, one thought "outside" of the box.
When it came time for him to share his word with the group, he yelled out, "JELLO"! :)
So funny.
He knew it didn't count.

Worship
Sometime days i just need to put a pause on life and worship. With so much going on this past week it was hard to focus. It was hard to be the cheery art teacher that my students see me as, it was hard to be with friends, it was hard to close my eyes without tears. But through all of that, through the tears and the tissues came love. Even though some weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I am learning so much. I am still am amazed at what God is doing and who he is putting in my path to help me get through this. The conversations that I have been having with others has been refreshing and full of laughter! Each time I am reminded that I am not alone. God is watching over me and my family and He definitely has my back. He has never left me, and He promises never to leave me. What a promise. What a promise.
For the past couple of weeks I started attending another church (Santidad) and their worship has really penetrated my heart. It reminds me of back home in Austin and the passion that comes form the musicians/singers is so encouraging. Each Sunday they've played great sets of songs (including my favorite Mi Fortaleza), but this past Sunday there was one song that has stuck with me. I wanted to share it with you and have you experience the power of these lyrics. Enjoy.
aleluya santo santo
poderoso
el gran yo soy
al que es digno
incomparable
poderoso
gran yo soy
tiembla ante ti la tierra
demonios huyen ya
al mencionar tu nombre
rey de majestad
no hay poder infernal
que pueda resistir
ante el poder y la presencia del
gran yo soy
gran yo soy
gran yo soy
